Mercy Home

Bennichan Luckose

Bennichan Luckose, born with polio that left him with a disability in both legs and one arm,
came to Mercy Home at the age of four and a half. He learned bookbinding, and in 2000, he
achieved his lifelong dream of starting his own press. Bennichan also founded the
Handicapped Charitable Trust in 2009, through which he continues to support people with
disabilities. His press provides employment to others with disabilities, and he has been
recognized with several awards, including the ‘Snehaprabha’ award from the Merchant
Association Changanassery and the ‘Humanitarian’ award from Rotary International.
