Director’s Day (Feast of Sr. Reeja SD)

The feast of Sr. Reeja SD, Director of Mercy Home, was joyfully celebrated over two days. On September 30, prayers, a musical procession, and sweet distribution marked the evening. October 1 featured Holy Mass and a vibrant cultural program by the children. Guests included Fr. James Kunnathu and Mother Deepthi Jose SD. Sr. Reeja thanked all for their love and support.

Disability Day Celebration

On December 2–3, Mercy Home celebrated Disability Day by showcasing resident’s talents through a special stall featuring handmade bottle art and dream catchers. Promoted via Radio Media Village, the event drew visitors from local institutions. Children confidently presented
their creations, making it a joyful and empowering experience

Excursion & Fun Trip

Mercy Home’s annual outing was filled with joy and excitement. The children enjoyed boating at Kochi Marine Drive, visited the grave of Fr. Varghese Payyappilli, and ended the day at Alappuzha Beach. With help from youth volunteers, even children with mobility challenges experienced the sea up close. The trip brought smiles, confidence, and lasting memories.

Sargotsavam 2023 – A Platform for Differently-Abled Talents

After a three-year gap due to COVID-19, the Lions Club organized ‘Sargotsavam 2023’ for differently-abled institutions at Changanassery. Eleven members from Mercy Home participated in competitions such as dance, painting, singing, and fancy dress, securing various prizes.

Sargavasantham – Panchayat-Level Competition

The children also took part in Sargavasantham, a program for differently-abled children at the Madappally Block Panchayat level. They competed in group dance, solo dance, group song, and fancy dress, winning incentive prizes as a mark of encouragement.

Carol Singing Competition

The children were invited to participate in a Carol Singing Competition organized by Radio Media Village.They performed the International Year song, receiving appreciation for their melodious presentation

Christmas with Migrant Workers

This Christmas, Mercy Home celebrated with 34 migrant workers from St. Thomas Hospital and Mercy Home. The event included cultural programs, a Hindi session by Sr. Reeja, and a festive meal. Each worker received gifts and left with heartfelt joy and gratitude, making it a truly meaningful celebration.
